BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Apollodotos II, circa 85-65 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 9.73 g, 12 h), Indian standard, uncertain mint in the Punjab. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΣΩΤΗΡΩΣ ΚΑΙ ΦΙΛΟΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ - ΑΠΟΛΛΟΔΟΤΟΥ Diademed and draped bust of Apollodotos II to right. Rev. 'Maharajasa tratarasa Apaladatasa' (in Kharoshti) Athena advancing left, holding shield on her left arm and brandishing thunderbolt with her right; to left and right, monograms. Bopearachchi 3C. HGC 12, 389. Beautifully struck on a full flan and with a fine pedigree. Extremely fine.
