KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.30 g, 10 h), Lampsakos, struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, circa 306/5-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; in field to left, forepart of Pegasus flying left; below throne, monogram of NO. Price 1382. An exceptional piece, lustrous and sharp. Virtually as struck.
