Lollius Palicanus, 45 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 4.12 g, 10 h), Rome. LIBERTATIS Head of Libertas to right, wearing diadem, pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. PALIKANVS View of the Rostra in the Forum Romanum, ornamented with prows and surmounted by subsellium. Babelon (Lollia) 2. Crawford 473/1. CRI 86. RBW 1652. Sydenham 960. A wonderful piece, very well centered and beautifully toned. Very minor weakness, otherwise, extremely fine.
