Description

CORINTHIA. Corinth. Circa 375-300 BC. Stater (Silver, 20 mm, 9.61 g, 12 h). Pegasos flying left; below, Ϙ. Rev. Head of Athena to left, wearing laureate Corinthian helmet and necklace; below, [A-P]; behind neck guard, boar standing left on ground line. BCD Corinth -. BMC 247-8. Calciati 435. Ravel 1017. SNG Copenhagen 68. A well struck example of beautiful style with lovely golden toning around the devices. A few light marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.

From the collection of Regierungsrat Dr. iur. Hans Krähenbühl, privately acquired from Münzen & Medaillen AG on 16 March 1963 (with a photocopy of the original invoice enclosed).
