KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 14.38 g, 3 h), Amphipolis, struck under Alexander III, circa 336-333/26. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠ-ΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, bee; below raised foreleg, aphlaston. Le Rider - (D228/R442). SNG ANS 560-5. A beautifully toned example of very attractive style. Light doubling on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
