LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.78 g, 10 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace; [before, ΔAI]. Rev. META Ear of barley with leaf to right; [to right above leaf, plow; below, MAX]. HN Italy 1581. Johnston Class C, 1.8. A lovely example with an attractive head of Demeter. Somewhat rough, otherwise, good very fine.
