LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.85 g, 1 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. META Ear of barley with leaf to left; to left above leaf, pair of tongs; below leaf, ΑΘΑ. HN Italy 1583. Johnston Group C, 4.3. Bright and attractive. Cleaned, otherwise, good extremely fine.
