Valentinian II, 375-392. Solidus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.47 g, 6 h), uncertain mint in northern Italy (Mediolanum?), 380-382. D N VALENTINI-ANVS P F AVG Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Valentinian II to right. Rev. VICTOR-IA AVGG / COM Gratian and Valentinian II, crowned and nimbate, seated facing on double-throne, holding a globe together; behind, Victory standing facing with wings spread; below, palm branch. Depeyrot 1/2 (as 'Italie du Nord'). RIC 5e (as 'Mediolanum'). Bright and lustrous. Good extremely fine.
