SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Antiochia on the Orontes. Circa 250-100 BC. Weight of 1/4 Mina (Tetarton) (Bronze, 60x62 mm, 113.00 g). ANTIOXEION / TETAPTON Zebu walking right. Rev. Latticework design. Pondera 3509. Very rare and with a lovely design. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, very fine.

It is worth noting that virtually identical weights are known from Seleucia Pieria, albeit with the Zebu walking to the left, suggesting a centralized production by the Seleukid authorities.
