Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.73 g, 4 h), Lugdunum, 8-7 BC. DIVI•F AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Augustus to right. Rev. C•CAES / AVGVS•F Gaius Caesar on horseback to right, holding spear and shield in his left hand and reins in his right; behind, aquila between two signa. BMC 500. Cohen 40. RIC 199. A nicely toned example with a fine portrait. Slightly rough and with minor scrapes, otherwise, good very fine.
