PRINC IVVENT / COS Septimius Severus and his two sons Caracalla and Geta on horseback to right. BMC 451 corr. (reverse description). Cohen 12 var. (differing obverse legend). RIC 37b var. (differing obverse legend. Very rare and unusually nice. Good very fine.

Well-preserved examples such as ours show that the figures on the reverse actually depict Severus and his sons rather than Geta with two knights.
