★ A rare Stater from the Bellovaci ★

CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Bellovaci . Circa 60-30/25 BC. Stater (Electrum, 18 mm, 6.02 g, 3 h). Celticized head to right, with prominent nose and big eye. Rev. Celticized horse to left; above and below, stars. D&T 265. LT 7234. A rare variety with horse to left. Struck from a worn reverse die with some breaks , otherwise, very fine.
