ISLAMIC, Ayyubids. Mayyafariqin & Jabal Sinjar. al-Awhad Najm al-Din Ayyub, AH 596-607 / AD 1200-1210. Dirham (Bronze, 26 mm, 8.84 g, 1 h), Mayyafariqin, AH 601 = AD 1204/1205. Draped bust facing, wearing headdress and mantle, held together by clasp from which pendant hangs down; in field to left and right, as well as in outer margin, legend in Kufic. Rev. Legend in Kufic in five lines; around, legend in Kufic. Balog, Ayyubids, 843. A very attractive example. Slightly rough. Good very fine.
