★ Homonoia issue between Hierapolis and Ephesus ★

PHRYGIA. Hierapolis. Philip II, as Caesar, 244-247. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 30 mm, 10.47 g, 7 h), Homonoia issue with Ephesus. Μ•ΙΟΥΛ•ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟϹ•ΚΑΙ• Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II to right. Rev. ΙЄΡΑΠΟΛЄΙΤΩΝ Κ ЄΦЄϹΙΩΝ ΝЄΟΚΟΡΩΝ / ΟΜΟΝΟΙΑ The city-goddesses of Hierapolis and Ephesos standing facing each other and clasping their right hands; each with mural crown and holding scepter. Franke-Nollé 679 = RPC VIII online ID 20748 (1 example). Of the highest rarity, apparently the second known example. Minor flan faults, otherwise, very fine.
