★ Struck from a clashed reverse die ★

PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy XII Neos Dionysos (Auletes), 80-58 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 14.46 g, 11 h), Alexandria, CY 17 = 65/4. Diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, wearing aegis around neck. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΠTOΛEMAIOY / LIK - ΠA Eagle with closed wings standing left on thunderbolt. SNG Copenhagen 388. Svoronos 1864. Nicely toned. Some scratches on the obverse and struck from a clashed reverse die, otherwise, very fine.
