★ A nicely toned tetradrachm of Ptolemy I Soter as satrap ★
PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter, As satrap, 323-305 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 15.69 g, 1 h), Alexandria, circa 306-300. Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Zeus Ammon over his ear, wearing elephant's skin headdress and aegis around his neck; in aegis, Δ. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Athena Alkidemos advancing to right, brandishing spear with her right hand and holding shield on her left arm; in field to right, monogram and eagle standing right with closed wings. Lorber 77. Svoronos 107. Nicely toned. The obverse a bit weak and with small flan faults on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
