ARABIA, Southern. Himyar. Tha'rān Ya'ūb Yuhan'im, circa 175-215 AD. Unit (Silver, 16 mm, 1.77 g, 7 h), a contemporary imitation. Male head to right with hair in long ringlets; to left, monogram, interrupting beaded border ending in arrowhead. Rev. 𐩧𐩺𐩵𐩬 / 𐩻𐩱𐩧𐩬𐩺𐩲𐩨 (t'rn y'b / rydn in South Arabian Script) Male head to right with hair in long ringlets; behind, uncertain symbol; before, 'scepter'. Cf. CAF 3.24i and Huth 449-450 (for prototype). An interesting contemporary imitation. Light deposits, otherwise, very fine.
The somewhat crude style and unusually flat fabric of this coin indicates that it is a contemporary imitation, not an official coin.
