SICILY. Gela. Circa 420-405 BC. Tetras or Trionkion (Bronze, 17 mm, 3.75 g, 8 h). Bull standing right; above, olive branch; in exergue, three pellets (mark of value). Rev. ΓΕΛAΣ Horned head of the river god Gelas to right; behind, barley grain. CNS 47. HGC 2, 380. Sharply struck and attractive. Green deposits on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
