John I Zimisces, 969-976. Miliaresion (Silver, 22 mm, 2.26 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. + IҺSЧS XRI-STЧS ҺICA ✷ Cross crosslet set upon globe above two steps; in central medallion, facing bust of John I, wearing crown and loros, flanked by I/Ⲱ and A/N to left and right. Rev. + IωAҺҺ' / ЄҺ X•Ⲱ AVTO/CRAT, ЄVSЄb' / bASILЄVS / RⲰMAIⲰ' in five lines; above and below, ornaments. DOC 7a. SB 1792. Beautifully toned. Minor deposits, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
