Nicephorus I, with Stauracius, 802-811. Solidus (Gold, 19 mm, 4.45 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 803-811. ҺICIFOROS bASILЄ' Crowned and draped bust of Nicephorus facing, holding cross potent in his right hand and akakia in his left; in field to left, pellet. Rev. STAVRACIS δЄSPO' X Crowned and draped bust of Stauracius facing, holding globus cruciger in his right hand and akakia in his left. DOC 2c. SB 1604. A very attractive example. Struck from a slightly corroded obverse die and with light weakness on the reverse, otherwise, virtually as struck.
