Description

UNCERTAIN GERMANIC TRIBES, Pseudo-Imperial coinage. Late 3rd-early 4th centuries. 'Aureus' (Gold, 20 mm, 6.60 g, 1 h), 'Derived Gordian Group B'. MNOV MININ Laureate, draped and cuirassed imperial bust to right, seen from behind. Rev. VNIP IIINИPИ Uncertain figure seated right, holding spear in his right hand and patera in his left. Aurum Barbarorum I, 794 ( same dies ). Boldly struck and with little wear. Holed and with some die rust on the obverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
