Description

Divus Constantine I, died 337. Follis (Bronze, 16 mm, 1.55 g, 6 h), Antiochia, 337-340. DV CONSTANTINVS P T AVGG Veiled head of Divus Constantine I to right. Rev. Divus Constantine I, veiled and togate, driving quadriga to right, extending his right hand toward manus Dei above and holding reins in his left; in field above, star; in exergue, SMANS. RIC 37. An exceptionally well struck piece with a beautiful patina. Good extremely fine.

From a Swiss collection, privately purchased from B. A. Klein on 16 April 1994.
