Maximianus, first reign, 286-305. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 5.39 g, 7 h), Nicomedia, 294. MAXIMIA-NVS P F AVG Laureate head of Maximianus to right. Rev. HERCVLI VICTORI / SMN Hercules standing front, head to right, leaning right on club set on ground and holding Apples of the Hesperides in his left hand; lion skind draped over his left arm. Calicó 4667a var. (with apples). Cohen -. RIC 3. Perfectly centered and with a bold early post-reform portrait. Good extremely fine.
