★ A rare denarius of Galba with a bold and vigorous portrait ★

Galba, 68-69. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.49 g, 6 h), Rome, circa July 68-January 69. IMP SER GALBA CAESAR [AVG] Laureate head of Galba to left. Rev. SALVS GEN HVMANI Salus advancing left, her right foot set on globe, holding patera in her right hand and rudder in her left; to left, lighted and garlanded altar. BMC 42 var. (obverse legend). Cohen 234 corr. RIC 207. Rare and with a particularly bold and vigorous portrait. Nearly extremely fine.
