SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Laodicea ad Mare. Caracalla, 198-217. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 13.54 g, 1 h), 212/3. •ΑΥΤ•ΚΑΙ••ΑΝΤΩΝЄΙΝΟC•CЄ• Laureate head of Caracalla to right. Rev. •ΔΗΜΑΡΧ•ЄΞ•ΥΠΑΤΟC•ΤϕÕ Eagle with spread wings standing facing, head to left and holding wreath in beak; between the eagle's legs, star. Prieur 1176. A sharply struck example with a bold portrait. Good extremely fine.
