CILICIA. Tarsus. Gordian III, 238-244. Hexassarion (Bronze, 37 mm, 20.93 g, 6 h). AYT K ANT ΓOPΔIANOC CЄB / Π - Π Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. TAPCOY MHTPOΠOΛЄⲰC / A M K Γ B Agonistic crown inscribed CEYHPЄIA and set upon table with feet in the form of lion's paws; below, jug; to left and right, two boxers standing facing each other, nude and the hair tied into a knot at the back of the head, wearing himantes (boxer's fist bindings) . BMC -. Klose & Stumpf 107 ( same dies ). SNG Levante 1134 ( same dies ). SNG Paris -. Ziegler -. Very rare and with an interesting reverse. Light doubling, otherwise, good very fine.
