SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Cleopatra Thea & Antiochos VIII, 126/5-121/0 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 16.99 g, 1 h), Ace-Ptolemais, SE 189 = 124/3. Jugate busts of Kleopatra Thea, diademed, veiled and wearing a stephane, and Antiochos VIII, diademed, to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΗΣ / ΚΛΕΟΠΑΤΡΑΣ / ΘEAΣ - ΚΑΙ / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟY Zeus seated left, holding Nike in his right hand and long scepter in his left; to outer left, monogram of ΣΥ; in exergue, ΘΠΡ. SC 2272.2. A beautifully toned piece. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good very fine.
