CRETE. Itanos. Circa 350-320 BC. Obol (Silver, 11 mm, 0.84 g). The sea-god Glaukos, with human head and torso and a fish tail, raising his left hand to his mouth and holding a trident in his right, with which he is about to spear a fish before him. Rev. Star with eight rays within shallow round incuse. Svoronos, Crete, 12 and pl. XVIII, 35. Very rare. Good very fine.
