ARGOLIS. Argos. Circa 90-50 BC. Triobol (Silver, 15 mm, 2.34 g, 7 h), Philokles, magistrate. Forepart of a wolf at bay to left. Rev. Large A; below, krater inscribed NE; around, ΦI-ΛO/K-Λ/H-Σ; all within incuse square. BCD Peloponnesos 1175 ( this coin ). BMC 124. Nanteuil 953 ( this coin ). A splendid, beautifully struck piece with magnificent toning and an excellent pedigree. Good extremely fine.
