LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 340-330 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 23 mm, 7.87 g, 10 h). ΔAMATHP Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, pendant earring and pearl necklace; before, torch; behind, K. Rev. META Ear of barley with leaf to left; above, crab; below, APXIΓ. HN Italy 1564. Johnston A6.12. SNG ANS 411 ( same dies ). Very rare. Struck from slightly worn dies, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
