Antoninus Pius, 138-161. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 32 mm, 27.11 g, 12 h), Rome, 140-144. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius to right. Rev. ANNONA AVG / S - C Annona standing front, head to right, holding grain ears above modius in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. BMC 1228. Cohen 37. RIC 597b. A splendid piece with a beautiful olive green patina and a noble portrait. Very minor smoothing, otherwise, extremely fine.
