★ An extremely rare light weight solidus of 22 siliqua ★

Justinian I, 527-565. Light weight Solidus of 22 Siliquae (Gold, 21 mm, 4.13 g, 6 h), Antiochia, 545-565. D N IVSTINIANVS P P AVG Helmeted and cuirassed bust of Justinian I facing, holding globus cruciger in his right hand and with a shield, decorated with a horseman, over his left shoulder. Rev. VICTORIA AVGGG I / OB✱†✱ Angel standing facing, holding long jewelled cross in his right hand and globus in his left; in field to right, star. Cf. DOC 16 var. (for differing mint letter and attributed to Constantinopolis). MIB 10 (attributed to Constantinopolis). SB 212. Extremely rare. Struck from slightly corroded dies and with tiny marks, otherwise, good extremely fine.
