★ One of the last coins issued by the Hindu kings of Multan before the Islamic invasion in 712 ★
LOCAL ISSUES, Sind. Multan. Yashaditya, circa 679-712. Damma (Silver, 11 mm, 0.88 g, 8 h). Bust of Yashaditya to right, wearing crown decorated with dots. Rev. Trident; around, SRI YASHADITYA ('Lord Sun of the Glory' in Brahmi). Fishman & Todd, p. 73ff. An attractive and lightly toned example. Good very fine.
It is likely that YASHADITYA (Sun of the Glory) is the Raja Dahir of Alor (679-712). This is one of the last coins issued by the Hindu kings of Multan before the Islamic invasion in 712.
