Description

PAPHLAGONIA. Sinope. Circa 425-410 BC. Drachm (Silver, 15 mm, 6.00 g). Head of a sea-eagle to left; below, dolphin swimming left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square with two opposing quarters filled, K (or Λ?) within one unfilled quarter. HGC 7, 388 var. (pellet in quarters). SNG Oxford 265. SNG von Aulock 6837. Beautifully toned. Test cut on the obverse and with minor deposits, otherwise, very fine.
