★ An interesting Corinthian stater without symbols ★
CORINTHIA. Uncertain colony. Circa 375-300 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 8.44 g, 11 h). Pegasos flying left. Rev. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet. An unusual and interesting piece. Areas of weakness, otherwise, very fine.
From a Swiss collection, formed before 2005.
The lack of symbols and somewhat crude style of this coin point towards a rather remote mint, or perhaps to a contemporary imitation.
