SRI LANKA (CEYLON), Native coinages. Period of the Chola Invasion. Kahavanu (Gold, 22 mm, 4.39 g, 11 h), circa 990-1070. King standing facing, head to right, holding rosebud in his left hand; around, different symbols. Rev. Sri / lamka / vibhu (in Nagari) King seated right, holding cockle-shell in his left hand. Mitchiner 825. Nicely toned and well struck. Good very fine.
