ISLAMIC, Persia (Pre-Seljuq). Saffarids. 'Amr ibn al-Layth, AH 265-288 / AD 879-901. Dirham (Silver, 30 mm, 2.77 g, 12 h), citing the emir Amr ibn al-Layth, Arrajan, AH 284 = AD 897/8. Album 1402. Rare and nicely toned. Light doubling, otherwise, very fine.
Amr ibn al-Layth was the younger brother of the dynasty's founder Ya'qub ibn al-Layth al-Saffar.
