Description

Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Follis (Bronze, 16 mm, 2.15 g, 7 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Arelate, after 330. CONSTAN-TINVS IVNO Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantius II to right. Rev. GLOR IA EXER-CITVS / PCONST Two soldiers standing facing each other, each holding inverted spear in his outer hand and placing his inner hand on shield set on ground; between them, two signa. Cf. RIC 342 var. (for prototype with differing obverse legend). Somewhat rough. Very fine.
