★ Mixing an obverse of Theodora with a reverse of Constantine II, Constans and Constantius II ★
Theodora, died before 337. Follis (Bronze, 16 mm, 2.13 g, 8 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Treveri, after 337. Diademed and draped bust of Theodora to left; around, blundered legend. Rev. Virtus standing front, head to left, holding inverted spear in her right hand and placing her left on shield set on ground; around, blundered legend. Cf. RIC 91 var. (for obverse, but bust to right) and RIC 73 (for reverse). Somewhat rough on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

This charming imitation mixes up an obverse of Theodora with bust to the left with a reverse known for Constantine II, Constans and Constantius II (RIC 73).
