Description

Licinius I, 308-324. Follis (Bronze, 19 mm, 2.89 g, 12 h), brockage mint error, Alexandria, 315. Incuse of reverse. Rev. IOVI CONSER-VATORI AVGG / (wreath) / Γ / N / ALE Jupiter standing front, head to left, holding Victory on globe in his right hand and long scepter in his left; at his feet, eagle to left, holding wreath in beak. RIC 10. Earthen deposits and with some scratches, otherwise, about very fine.

Reverse brockages are surprisingly rare: in the case of this example, the reverse belongs to Licinius I.
