★ A lovely drachm of Oborzos (Vabharz) ★

KINGS OF PERSIS. Oborzos (Vabharz), early-mid 2nd century BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.24 g, 10 h), Istakhr (Persepolis). Head of Vabharz with luxuriant moustache to right, wearing kyrbasia or satrapal hat and earring. Rev. Fire-temple of Ahura-Mazda; above, half-figure of Ahura-Mazda to left; to left, King standing right, his hands raised in adoration; to right, standard. Alram 531. A lovely and unusually sharp piece. Light scratch on the obverse and with a graffito (?) on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
