KINGS OF LYDIA. Alyattes, circa 610-560 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 10 mm, 2.38 g), Sardes. Head of a lion with sun and rays on its forehead to right; before, 𐤥𐤠𐤩𐤥 ('walw' in Lydian). Rev. Incuse square punch. Weidauer Group XVII, 97-110. Rare. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, very fine.
