★ Apparently the finest of just three known examples ★
IONIA. Uncertain. Circa 520-480 BC. Hemiobol (Silver, 6 mm, 0.34 g). Head of a nymph to left, wearing sakkos. Rev. Stellate or floral pattern within incuse square. CNG E-Auction 346 (2015), 161. Naumann E-Auction 53 (2017), 227. Extremely rare and apparently the finest of just three known examples. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
The obverse of this interesting issue is certainly influenced by contemporary diobols from Phokaia (SNG Kayhan 522), whereas the reverse is reminiscent of Milesian prototypes.
