ATTICA. Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.94 g, 12 h), Dorothe..., Dioph..., and Charmi..., magistrates, 132/1. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos and long tendril on the bowl, and with the foreparts of four horses above the visor. Rev. A-ΘE / ΔΩΡ/ΟΘΕ - ΔΙΟΦ / XAP/MI Owl standing facing on Amphora; to right, forepart of lion to right; on amphora, Λ; in exergue, ΣΦ; all within laurel wreath. Thompson 389f. A bright example with a lovely reverse symbol. Minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
