Description

New Kingdom, c. 1386-1075 B.C. Steatite plaque shaped as an half cylinder (16x11mm). Base engraved with the mummiform standing figure of the creator god Ptah; in front of him a djed pillar for stability and a ankh for life. Back is decorated with a cartouche of the prenomen of Amenophis III flanked by two maat feathers. Light chip, otherwise intact, pierced for mounting. For a similar piece cf. NFA 200.
