3rd Class Badge, Instituted in 1878, to be awarded upon ladies for exceptional merit in the help and care of wounded and victims of accidents and catastrophes, generally awarded also as a diplomatic reward to high ranking, foreign ladies. Breast Badge, 79x62 mm, GOLD, red enamel; centre medallion with the Sultan's Tughra also in gold and green enamel, the cartouches with the words "Charity‚ Devotion‚ Assistance" in gold, Arabic lettering, separately mounted rays in gold, set with brilliants, green enamelled laurel wreath, also set with brilliants, smooth reverse with fivepointed star within laurel wreath, red enamelled Crescent and Star suspension and grooved ribbon ring, original, ladies ribbonbow.
