A 1st Class breast star of the Order, 90x84 mm, smooth, bordered silver rays; the centre with red enameled cross in gold, on gilt silver, pebbled ground; red enameled outer circlet bearing the separately-made, gilt-silver motto
“AMANTIBUS JUSTITIAM PIETATEM FID EM” with finely chiseled details; the whole, between moulded borders; the upper ray, bearing polychrome
enameled tsarist crown, made of gold and fixed by means of rivet (the
fixing, probably repaired in the time of use, by order of the bearer); gilt,
polished reverse with broad, slightly convex counter-medallion, struck
with the maker’s mark of Keibel and Imperial Russian silver marks; original, vertical pin, also struck with the same marks.
A very rare star, in almost excellent condition and showing a beautiful
patina. II RR!
