A Grand Cross Set: sash badge 87x53 mm, in gilt Silver with white enameled
field charged on both sides with the green enameled cross of the Order in
gold, surmounted by the white star bearing the red enameled sacred
Heart; ornamented suspension loop and round ribbon ring; breast star,
81x66 mm, with chiselled silver rays, white enameled centre medallion
with the green enameled order’s cross in gold, chiselled outer circlet also
in gold, with enameled leaves and flowers, resting on a circle of chiselled
gold beams; the upper rays of the star, with the red enameled sacred
heart; the reverse with broad, flat pin with an uncommon catch, in original
case of issue.
An interesting old set dating to the middle of the 19th Century, in
extremely fine condition. I R!
