Order of Merit of the Republic of Cyprus
A Grand Officer’s set of the Order: badge of the order in gilt, 80x48 mm, in the form of a green enameled laurel wreath enclosing a shield bearing the white enameled dove-of-peace holding an olive branch in the beak, above the year “1960” (Cyprus’s independence); smooth reverse, with “frosted” finish; above, a stylized ornament and the grooved ribbon ring; with original neck ribbon; breast star, 86 mm, with gilt rays, alternately smooth/polished and with a “sequined” motive, imitating the embroidery;
the centre, of the same design of the badge; the reverse with broad pin (this, struck with the maker’s mark of Arthus Bertrand, Paris; in the original, fitted case of issue, with the maker’s mark of Arthus Bertrand printed on the inner cushion.
A very rare order, especially in its higher classes; excellent condition. I R!
