Baudry, Ambroise. CATALOGUE OF ANCIENT GREEK COINS. No publication information. 8vo, original pictorial boards. 197, (1) pages, reproducing the original handwritten and illustrated catalogue of Baudry’s extensive collection of ancient Greek coins. Fine. A privately produced facsimile of an original manuscript in the library of Hadrien Rambach, being the catalogue of the collection of Ambroise Baudry (1838–1906), a French architect who practiced (and collected) in Cairo. Dated 1892–1897, the catalogue mainly covers coins from Thrace and Macedonia. Whilst his numismatic collection remains unstudied, his Islamic art is better known, with pieces in the Louvre and in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. (Thanks to Hadrien Rambach for assisting with this description.)
